Editing the text of your site is truly easy. Click "Edit" to edit any text on the page. An editor that's familiar to everyone appears. Edit your text, apply any styles you wish, and then click "Save."
Bored with text? Click "Add Content" to add photos, slideshows, twitter feeds, forms, videos and more.
To add a single photo, or an entire slideshow of photos, just click "Add Content" and pick "Photo Slideshow." Then click "Choose Images" to visit your media repository.
Adding your media here allows you to reuse it in many places. Click "Add Media" to get started. You'll see a "Browse" button allowing you to pick a file to upload from your computer.
Select your file, then click "Upload Media." Don't worry too much about the size of your file! Apostrophe will automatically scale it on the fly to suit each page.
Next you're given a chance to describe your image. This comes in really handy when you want to reuse it later. If you're happy with the suggested title just click "Save Media."
You'll see a small preview of your image beneath the words "You are selecting a slideshow of images." You can click your image to crop it, add more images via "Add Media" to create a slideshow, or just click "Save Selection."
Once you "Save Selection," you'll see your finished slideshow in context on the page. If you want, you can use the up and down arrows to move it above or below other content in the same content area.
Adding video is a lot like adding photos. Click "Add Content," then pick "Video," followed by "Choose Video." The media repository appears.
There are two ways to add a video to the media repository. You can click "Add Media" and paste an embed code for a video on almost any hosting service. We have especially good support for YouTube, Vimeo and SlideShare baked in, but most well-behaved embed codes will work great. For the services mentioned here it's kosher to just paste a link rather than an embed code.
An alternative: click "Search Services," pick "YouTube," and just search YouTube for the content you want right in the media repository. Page through matching videos and select the one you want.
Once you pick a video you're invited to describe it. With YouTube and most other videos the description is filled in for you right away. Click "Save Media" when you're happy with it. You'll be returned to your page, where your video will appear in context.
This is just the beginning of what you'll find on the "Add Content" menu. Feel free to explore your options. MP3 files uploaded to the media repository play right in the page you add them to. Forms created with the wonderful Wufoo service can be dropped right in. Ditto for Paypal ecommerce buttons. Twitter feeds and RSS feeds can be dropped into a page anywhere. And you can pop the content of your blog and your calendar of events into any page, selecting specific articles, articles with particular tags or just recent articles to appear anywhere you'd like.
